A booking request needs a clear confirmation
By Nick Devonport, Managing Director · England · Reviewed 26 October 2026
The scenario below is illustrative. It explains our approach; it is not a customer testimonial or a report of a completed case.
There is a moment between choosing a property and knowing the stay is confirmed. I want our team to make that moment understandable, because people may be arranging travel around what they believe has happened.
A moment in the moving journey
Picture a guest submitting dates and immediately booking a train. If the screen only acknowledged an enquiry, the expectation may be wrong. The journey should explain the status of the request, any next step and the point at which the agreed booking is confirmed.
How our property portal helps
Our property portal includes date and guest checks within its stay tools. Those checks help structure a request, but the customer-facing message still needs to explain the actual outcome. A valid date range does not, by itself, prove that every booking requirement has been completed.

The people behind the process
Marketing and booking colleagues should review the wording together. A clear confirmation also needs the relevant property, dates, occupants, price and terms to match. I want the guest to understand the agreement without having to interpret a technical status.
Your next step
Before making dependent travel plans, check the confirmation you have received and ask the team if its meaning is unclear. We can help establish which stage the booking has reached.
