Registration preparation is different from being registered
By Nick Devonport, Managing Director · England · Reviewed 26 October 2026
The scenario below is illustrative. It explains our approach; it is not a customer testimonial or a report of a completed case.
A forthcoming register is a reason to prepare carefully, not a reason to tell guests that a property already holds a status it has not obtained. I want our team and hosts to be precise about that difference.
A moment in the moving journey
Imagine an owner gathering information after reading a headline about short-let registration. The useful task is to review the official position and identify which records may need attention. A launch expectation is not the same as a completed process, and older announcements may no longer describe the current timetable.
How our property portal helps
Our property portal can help organise property details and relevant documents. The host journey provides a place to discuss preparation with the team. It is separate from any official registration service, and an entry in our portal must not be presented as a government registration.

The people behind the process
As MD, I want colleagues to learn the status as well as the headline. We should say when something is expected, when rules remain to be finalised and what the host can do sensibly now. That creates confidence through accuracy rather than premature reassurance.
Your next step
Ask us which official source we are using and which preparation questions apply to your property. An organised file helps make the next stage easier when the relevant process becomes available.
